Pet Specialty

Each pet is randomly given a specialty when it is tamed. This specialty increases the ranks of all affected Pet Skills. It is very important that your pet's specialty matches its skills. If you would like to change a pet's specialty, simply train it with a Specialty Potion.

The diagram of 3 interlocking hexagrams on the Pet Stats page represents a pet's specialty. Each of the 13 corners represents a different specialty.

The main specialty, represented by a sun marking, increases the rank of all affected skills by 30.

The sub-specialties, represented by a moon marking, increase the rank of all affected skills by 10. A pet can have either two or three sub-specialties, depending on which main specialty they have, as the sub-specialties are the corners adjacent to the main specialty's corner.

Thunder Rush

Enhances skills that deal damage without any added effects. Its sub-specialties are Profundity, Cyclone Dust, and Void Essence.

Spirit Essence

Enhances skills that increase or decrease Accuracy or Evasion. Its sub-specialties are Cleverness and Heavenfire.

Enhances skills that increase or decrease Attack Power. Its sub-specialties are Spirit Essence and Cyclone Dust.

Cyclone Dust

Enhances skills that increase or decrease Spirit. Its sub-specialties are Heavenfire, Thunder Rush, and Nether Essence.

Nether Essence

Enhances skills with a Silence, Taunt, or Fasting (preventing the target from using potions) effect. Its sub-specialties are Cyclone Dust and True Blood.

True Blood

Enhances skills that increase Defense or reduce Health. Its sub-specialties are Nether Essence and Nerves.

Nerves

Void Essence

Reality

Enhances skills that remove positive effects from the target or lower its CritStrike Rate/Bonus. Its sub-specialties are Void Essence and Clarity.

Clarity

Enhances skills that protect or drain Spirit and those that decrease Defense. Its sub-specialties are Reality and Universality.

Universality
