The Hero's Course quest is a repeatable quest starting in Skysong and all higher level zones. It has three levels, each of which is unlocked by having the required amount of Honor with your own faction.
The reward for completing this quest is an Esper Tome for your faction's Esper, along with a large amount of experience. The higher ranked quests (red is lowest, followed by silver, with gold as the highest) give more experience than the lower-ranked quests.
- Gain Honor by donating grade 2+ provisions or merit incense to your faction's representative in Sunstream City.
- Once you have enough honor, talk to your faction's herald in the zone corresponding to your faction. You should be able to accept the quest "Common Hero Scroll" for the red scroll, "Medium Hero Scroll" for the silver scroll, or "Advanced Hero Scroll" for the gold scroll. If you are unable to accept these quests, you should try getting more honor with your faction.
- Open your inventory, and right-click the scroll you just received.
- Follow the instructions on your quest log. The quest will ask you to do one of the following things:
- Travel to a certain area.
- Kill a certain number of monsters.
- Collect a certain number of crafting materials.
- Collect a certain number of provisions.
- Retrieve a specific piece of gear. The free gear given by Tanis Ka does not count for this quest, it must be purchased from NPCs (blacksmith, tailor, or faction heralds in Sunstream) or crafted by players.
- After completing the first step of the chain, there will be a scroll in your bag. Right-click it to get the next part of the quest.
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you complete all of the objectives.
- Return to your faction herald for your reward.

Skysong Temple
Jadeon Herald can be found in front of one of the smaller temple buildings, south from the main temple. Balo faction members might have a hard time finding their Herald, as he was mercilessly stashed in the back of the temple, unlike the other heralds, who are in front of within the temple walls.

The Billows' Laguna Collective
Vim and Lupin Heralds are both outside the settlement, across the river. Vim Herald is located on the bridge at Laguna Ferry, Lupin is near the small huts on the way there. Skysong Herald can be found on a wooden platform above Dispatcher Ningo NPC.
