Note: Mystic Tome has only two parts to its quest line, but the second part can be one of three different tomes. Also, the only one that has a definitive answer is the Dream Seeker tome while the others are still under research.

Quest Starter Quest Finisher
Eldest Matchmaker Eldest Matchmaker

This quest is started by the Eldest Matchmaker. Once you reach level 120, head to Sunstream and accept the quest. Then go to the Skylord and teleport to Jadeon.

You are told you must kill 99 Predatory Hornets. No need to worry, while they do take some time to kill due to their health being so high, they only do -1 damage to you, no matter what your level is. Also note that skills do not work on them - they almost always miss or are defended against - so stick to just normal attacks. Your pet's skills will work on them, however.

Damage dealt on Hornets depends on the level (applies to both player and Pet, also all summons like Arden's animals and Rayan's clone).

Once you have finished killing the tedious 99 Predatory Hornets, head on back to the Eldest Matchmaker and turn in the quest.

You will then receive one of three tomes:

  • Mystic Tome: Flying Fairy
  • Mystic Tome: Dream Seeker
  • Mystic Tome: Riverside Immortal

Tome - Flying Fairy

Quest Starter Quest Finisher
Eldest Matchmaker Skylord Adra

Skylord Adra: "People always say that Immortals are never subject to pain, that they are always happy. But there can be no joy without sorrow. I wonder if they do not have some great sorrow hidden within their hearts...."

Let me think about it... (continues quest)

How could I know?

After returning Angel quest, you may be given one of two:

  • ♦ Angel - The Banished Fairy ♦ Skylord Adra: "Do you have the answer?"
    • More Pain.
    • More Happiness.
  • ♦ Angel - Pain or Happiness ♦ Skylord Adra: "Do you have the answer?"
    • More Pain.
    • More Happiness.

How to Complete: For The Banished Fairy answer depends on your level and realm you're in. If the total number is odd the answer is "More Pain." If the total number is even, the answer is "More Happiness."
Equation: level + realm = answer

BUT, you must ask yourself this question first, "Have I leveled from the time I completed killing the 99 Predatory Hornets from another quest or something else?" If the answer to this question is yes then you MUST take what level you were before you leveled.

For example: You are level 55 when you completed the killing of the 99 Predatory Hornets, then went over to the Elder of Arcaness and turned in the Sky Lotus quest from the Sky Dweller, and it just so happened to cause you to level to 56. So when you return to the Eldest Matchmaker and receive the Mystic Tome: Flying Fairy, you MUST go off of the previous level of 55, not 56 otherwise your answer will be wrong.

Pain or Happiness is easier of the two. The answer is always Pain.

♦ The Understanding Angel ♦

Skylord Adra: "In fact, it is such that the Immortals do not feel anything that we understand as pain, or happiness. We are not able to understand the workings of such a mind."

Tome - Dream Seeker

Quest Starter Quest Finisher
Eldest Matchmaker Dreamland Vendor
Dream Master Saon
Dreamland Vendor Luer

The easiest way: HOW to get taichi pills as reward from Dream Seeker tome

<img src="/perfectworld/vhosts/jd-wiki.perfectworld/htdocs/images/d/d4/Dreamskrtome.jpg" alt="Dream Seeker Tome" style="max-width:100%; height:auto;">

This is probably the easiest of the tomes to complete but you MUST pay close attention because each Dream Seeker says something different than each other and there are two different types of "dreams" you are told. But fret not, for there are key words in each "dream" that helps you decide the correct answer.

♦ Dreamland Vendor & Dreamland Vendor Luer ♦ Dreamland Vendor: Randomly appears in Sunstream City and walks around.
Dreamland Vendor Luer: When the Dreamland Vendor isn't in Sunstream City, Luer can be found in the Baxi Eatery in Skysong.

♦ Dream Master Saon ♦
He can be found right outside Sunstream City in the Jundi Forest.

Dream Story 1:

Dreamland Vendor: "I dreamed I changed into a butterfly, dancing in the flowers. The mild wind blew the flowers and gently caressed my wings. But after I awoke, I was myself again. Tell me, did I dream that I changed into a butterfly, or am I a butterfly that is dreaming that he has changed into me?"

Dream Story 2:

Dreamland Vendor: I became a butterfly in a dream and enjoyed the feel of nature. But when I woke up, I was no longer a butterfly. Can you tell me whether I changed into a butterfly during the dream, or if a butterfly changed into me (...)

How to Complete: The key words to look for are flowers and nature in the story of the dream. It should usually be within the first sentence of the story.

  • Flowers = You, who dreamed you were a butterfly. (or bottom choice for quick selection)
  • Nature = A butterfly that's dreaming he's you. (or top choice for quick selection)

Rewards:

  • 50 Taichi Pill (correct)
  • 1 Inspiration
  • 100 Merit Incense
  • 50 Talchi Pill (wrong)
  • 1 Mixed Feeling
  • 100 Merit Incense

Tome - Riverside Immortal

Quest Starter Quest Finisher
Eldest Matchmaker Sky Dweller

How to Complete: The answer for this quest changes every day at 3 pm, and resets on Thursdays.

Best way to do this is figure out what is correct answer for your character, for Thursday morning. While the rule which Hope or Despair is the right answer seems to differ somehow depending on the character - the way it changes daily is the same.

For example:

THU (morning after maintenance) right answer is Hope. At 3 pm - changes to Despair.
FRI (morning) right answer is still Despair. At 3 pm - changes back to Hope.
SAT (morning) right answer is Hope. At 3 pm - changes to Despair.

When you figure out the first right answer, all you've got to do is count to the day you get Riverside Immortal in, and get your Taichi Pills.

Important! The example above is just to illustrate the way answers change. It may not be accurate for each character. You have to first check what's the right order of answers for your character. (Key: Hope or Despair first correct answer Thursday morning?)

Rewards:

  • 50 Taichi Pill (correct)
  • 1 Inspiration
  • 100 Merit Incense
  • 50 Talchi Pill (wrong)
  • 1 Mixed Feeling
  • 100 Merit Incense
