Gear is the general term used to describe all of the items in the game world that your character can wear. It can be divided up into Combat gear, Fashion, and Accessories. Only Combat gear and Fashion gear will be visible on your character. You can wear both Combat and Fashion gear at the same time, but only one set can be displayed on your character at a time. In the Character window you will be able to toggle between displaying your Combat gear or your Fashion - regardless of which set is visible, you will still receive all the bonuses from your equipped gear.

While combat-oriented gear can look awesome and may even look better than some pieces of Fashion gear, its primary purpose is to grant your character stat bonuses and extra abilities. Combat gear is specific to your faction.

See the Combat Gear page for more information about this type of gear.

Fashion gear on the other hand is worn exclusively for appearance. It grants no stat bonuses and cannot be refined. It is mostly found in the Marketplace. Fashion gear is gender-specific, but can be worn by any race or faction within those genders. Some fashions provide bonus skills when the entire set is worn.

See the Fashion page for images of the various Fashions.

There are a number of miscellaneous accessories:

  • Necklaces: These sometimes drop from defeated monsters. They can give bonus stats, most importantly the +damage bonus. The Treasure Chest contains these at different levels. The Elder of Arcaneness has some in exchange for bullion and coins. Some of these can also be upgraded.
  • Rings: These sometimes drop from defeated monsters. They can give bonus stats, such as resistances or damage reduction. They are also given as rewards from Regular Fishing with Ami and the Sky Dweller's Lottery (2nd Place Prize in the 60 Gold Lottery). A Wedding Ring can be found in the Marketplace item: Wedding Pack. The Wedding Ring can also be obtained from the Eldest Matchmaker by exchanging 9999 Romance Points. Occasionally you will receive a ring through bloodsmelting as a random result. The Treasure Chest also contains rings at different levels. Some rings can be upgraded.
  • Chi: These can be found in the Treasure Chest, or purchased from the Shady Dealer in Sunstream City. They give bonus Defense, Health, Spirit and Evasion. Advanced LV135 Chi is rewarded from the Spirit Mystery Quest, also the Ascension Chi can be acquired in exchange for Fighting Confidence in Ancient Land.
  • Charms: These items are crafted, and give +1 to the corresponding Tome skill, along with some Health and Spirit.
  • Trinkets: Level 1 Trinkets are occasionally given out as part of an events. They can be upgraded through Crafting.
  • Essence: Mainly obtained from the Elder of Arcaneness' apprentices in Jadeon. The Treasure Chest also contains two free basic Essences. Special essences are occasionally awarded during events.
  • Soulstones: An upgradable item that gives random stat bonuses, and eventually extra skills.
  • Fatecharms: Similar to Soulstones, they give stat bonuses.
