        <p>For the Fishing Mastery Event see <a href="Fishing_Mastery" style="color: #003366;">Fishing Mastery</a>.</p>
        <p>Fishing is one of the best ways for new players to make money. Some fish that you can catch sell for more than 1 gold apiece. Of course, you won't always catch one of the most valuable fish, but even the 35s fish can significantly increase your buying power.</p>

        <h2>Fishing Introduction</h2>
    <p>'''Sunstream''' is where all players start their journey. You'll have your first set of armor and weapons here, as well as your first esper and pet! When you reach level 15, Tanis Ka will guide you along the way to the selection of a faction.</p>
        <p>As a new player, the world is unknown to you and you hear everyone talking about fishing. But you don't know where and how to fish and most importantly: What is the point of fishing in this game?</p>
        <p>Fishing allows you to quietly relax from all that questing and fighting. You can find items by fishing that you can't get anywhere else, and you'll be able to make money while doing it. Most importantly: it's free and it only takes a few minutes to fish. The rest is just pure luck! It can be as high as 4 Gold or as low as 1 Copper for you. But don't give up if you don't get what you were looking for. Patience is the key here, and eventually you'll be rewarded.</p>

        <p>To start in Basic Fishing you need:</p>
        <ul>
          <li>A character level 35 or above</li>
          <li>Bait</li>
          <li>Free Slots in your Inventory</li>
          <li>5 minutes</li>
          <li>Little grain of luck</li>
        </ul>

        <h2>Fishing Schedule / Getting Bait</h2>
        <p>In Jade Dynasty, you have a lot of chances to fish. This is quite a good thing for players who have to take care of family, their job or other matters in real life that prevent you from fishing.</p>
        <p>You can get bait during the following time periods:</p>
        <ul>
          <li>12:00 p.m to 01:00 a.m</li>
          <li>08:00 a.m to 09:00 a.m</li>
          <li>12:00 a.m to 01:00 p.m</li>
          <li>03:00 p.m to 04:00 p.m</li>
          <li>06:00 p.m to 07:00 p.m</li>
          <li>09:00 p.m to 10:00 p.m</li>
        </ul>
        <p>You can obtain one piece of bait per character during these time periods by talking to Ami in Sunstream City (126,150) and accepting the quest <i>"Fishing Bait"</i>. Once you have the bait, you can use it to fish at any time. Some people like to gather a lot of bait over time, and then go fishing to use it all up at once.</p>

        <h2>Fishing Locations / How to Fish</h2>
    <p>If you are playing an athan such as an Arden or Balo character, the quests progress in a very similar way, except with the NPCs and monsters found in the Divine Realm.</p>
        <p>Now that we've sorted out the preparations, you're probably wondering how to fish.</p>
        <p>Once you have the bait, just take it to the matching fishing pole and click on it to start using it. After the bar reaches 100%, the bait and the fishing pole will disappear, and you will get a random item. The fishing pole will reappear after a short time so that it can be re-used if you have more bait.</p>
        <p>When talking to Ami, you will get 1 of 4 different baits randomly.</p>
        <ul>
          <li><strong>Earth Worm Bait:</strong> You're lucky if you get this one, because you don't have to travel far. The fishing pole is right there at the Lotus Pool in Sunstream City. (coordinates 129, 107)</li>
          <li><strong>Preserved Bait:</strong> For this one, you need to head south of Sunstream City and follow the path until you reach a bridge. Cross it and immediately turn left to see a rod waiting for you there at the Sol River. (coordinates 167, -162)</li>
          <li><strong>Red Worm Bait:</strong> This bait is used in the pond at Serenity Clearing, far to the south in the Sunstream region. (coordinates 50, -390)</li>
          <li><strong>Rice Worm Bait:</strong> This pole is located on the west side of the Fountainhead Hollows lake on the northern edge of the Sunstream region. (coordinates -80, 430)</li>
        </ul>

        <h2>Rewards</h2>
    <p>For a rookie in Jade Dynasty, it can be hard to figure out how to level up: Grinding doesn't give much EXP, and it's a long way to Ascended LV150. This guide will list a few of the ways characters under Level 45 can painlessly get EXP.</p>

        <p>You can also get a variety of different quest-related items. These items might be needed to finish certain quests, rewarding you with some experience points and sometimes even some titles.</p>
        <p><strong>Fishing Certificate:</strong> This is the most important item. You'll need this after reaching Level 45 to participate in the Fishing Mastery event in The Billows, which occurs daily from 06:00 to 07:00 p.m. These certificates can be stacked up to 10.</p>
        <p>Can be fished in all 4 spots.</p>

        <p><strong>Soggy Horse Face:</strong> You'll need 10 of these to obtain the <i>"Soggy Horse Face"</i> title from Ami.</p>
    <h2 id="Level_1">Level 1</h2>
        <p>Can be fished only at Serenity Clearing (using Red Worm Bait).</p>
    <p>NOTE: Currently, all characters under level 30 have a 12-letter chat limit and a six second waiting period before sending chat message. However, this DOES NOT affect Friend chat. If you have anyone you know in game such as a friend or Inductor, you can add them to your friend list by right clicking their name on chat window, and then clicking add. This puts them on your friend list (accessible by pressing F). You can choose to chat with them with less of a chat limit on a separate window, see when they're online, and more.</p>

        <p><strong>Black Pig Head:</strong> If you want the <i>"Black Pig Head"</i> title given by Ami, you need to give him 10 of those as well.</p>
    <p>First, press B to open your Bag and right-click on the Treasure Chest to obtain a nice weapon and a whole lot of potions. Equip one of the weapons by right-clicking on it. To make life a little easier, press Q to open up Quest Log. On the left bottom corner of the Quest log window, check Track All. By doing this, all your quests show up on a little window, making it easier to access what quests you are doing and so on.</p>
        <p>Can be fished only at Fountainhead Hollows (using Rice Worm Bait).</p>

        <p><strong>Mystic Scroll:</strong> Right-click on this to obtain a random Voyage quest, which will give you a small amount of Experience Points and a title. You can also trade or sell them to other players.</p>
    <p>Step forward and talk to Tanis Ka and he will give you a quest to talk to Guard Suntu. This is your first Mandatory quest, and quests of this color will take you through the story of Jade Dynasty, and as such, mainly send you to talk to NPCs and kill monsters for them. Follow where the quest tells you to go by clicking on the green text in the quest log or on the tracker window, and you'll see a bunch of wood piles. Your quest tells you to kill 5 of these. To attack, click on the wood pile and click on the attack icon or press 1 on your skill bar. You can use Heavy Blow skill on your skill bar can kill these in less hits.Turn in the quest to Guard Suntu once you're done.</p>

        <p><strong>Wisdom Map:</strong> This one activates automatically if your character level is identical to the area you're currently in. In other words, this means:</p>
    <h2 id="Levels_2_to_5">Levels 2 to 5</h2>
        <ul>
    <p>Speak to Tailor Swaha to get the next Mandatory quest. Talk to the Physician nearby and you receive a quest to get 5 Boar Hide and 5 Wolf Bone. This can be completed by killing 5 Mountain Boars and 5 Wild Wolves. When you are done, turn this quest in to Physician Swarga and he'll give you a Celemiracle Dew, which can instantly restore your HP to full depending on how much HP is left on the Battery. Talk to Guard Suntu again and will tell you to go to the Enchanter, who will give you your first Esper. Equip it and notice that the Esper interface appears. The top bar will gradually fill with red, and when it is halfway, you can click on the "Invigorate" button on the left side to cause your character to fight for you!</p>
          <li>Sunstream Level 1-15</li>
          <li>Jadeon Level 15-30</li>
          <li>Skysong Level 30-45</li>
          <li>The Billows Level 45-60</li>
          <li>Doom Bog Level 60-75</li>
          <li>Wildlands Level 75-90</li>
        </ul>
        <p>So for example, if you're Level 63 you will get a quest automatically as soon as you go to Doom Bog. Be sure that you have the item in your bag before you go.</p>
        <p>Can be fished only at Sunstream City Pond (using Earth Worm Bait) and near bridge above southern Sol River (using Preserved Bait).</p>
        <p>Be careful, as the quest is time-based and you only have a few minutes to finish it once it appears. The quest will tell you to find an NPC who will give you a short quiz. The questions are based mostly on real life information, and you'll get asked about country's capitals, date of Father's / Mother's Day, etc.</p>
        <p>Only the character who first fished up the Wisdom Map can use it, and it is only usable for characters of level of 90 or below. You can't trade or drop it.</p>

        <p><strong>Blood Flower:</strong> This item is used for one of the Voyage quests that appear on its own randomly for level 30-40. You'll need the Blood Flower to complete the quest. If you level too far past it, you won't get this quest anymore.</p>
    <p>At level 5, you can open your Treasure Chest again for a pair of boots and a hat, which are better than the ones you got from the quest at level 1. Make sure you equip them.</p>
        <p>Can be fished only at Fountainhead Hollows (using Rice Worm Bait)</p>

        <p><strong>Secrets of Talisman:</strong> Same as the Blood Flower, you need this for finishing up one of those Voyage quests.</p>
    <h2 id="Levels_6_to_10">Levels 6 to 10</h2>
        <p>Can be fished only near bridge above southern Sol River (using Preserved Bait).</p>
    <p>Continue following the Mandatory quests by talking to the Enchanter again. He will send you to Waiter Huu who will tell you to talk to Fisherman Younge. After talking to him, he will teleport you to Hades Sea, where you are supposed to get an unknown fish net. Depending on your computer system, you may need to drop all of your graphical settings to minimum in order to complete this section.</p>

        <p><strong>Destiny Stone:</strong> Collect enough of these and then trade them in to the Eldest Matchmaker in Sunstream City to gain some Romance Points.</p>
        <p>Can be fished only at Fountainhead Hollows (using Rice Worm Bait)</p>

        <p><strong>Tattered Calfskin Bag:</strong> Right-click on the Bag to get a Dim Treasure Map. Show it to Nura in Sunstream City to get a viewable map, and you'll get coordinates for a Romance Volume Scroll. You need to find the Volume of Romance in the Voyage quest <i>"The Romantic"</i>, which you can obtain by using a Mystic Scroll. You need to find a total of 3 Volumes to get the <i>"Master of Romance"</i> title.</p>
    <p>Once in the Hades Sea, cross the bridge, and then go through the left pathway. At the end, click at the fish net to complete the first part of the quest. Now we have to go through the flying swords to get to the NPC: Jadeon Disciple Colde, who is moving around in a circle. As you navigate your way to him, be careful of the flying swords. If you get hit by them, you'll get damaged as well as be paralyzed for 8 seconds. After talking to the Jadeon disciple, you'll be teleported back. Speak to the fisherman, and you should get enough experience to level up to level 7.</p>
        <p>The item out of the Bag will give you coordinates for one of those Volumes and have a 1-hour time limit.</p>

        <p><strong>Ramie / Bark / Torn Fishnet:</strong> These items are all worth 1 Copper. While it appears that these items are worthless, they are needed from a quest that first appears from the Unknown Scholar in Sunstream City (coordinates 192, 124) when you reach level 60.</p>
    <p>Speak to the fisherman again to start another quest which involves catching a Moy Fish. You'll get a fishnet in your bag. Click on the fish net, and drag to the skill bar. Then, target the fish in the water and use the fishnet from your skill bar to turn the fish into a Moy Fish. Kill it, and then go back to Waiter Huu. Interact with the Cooking Morry and accept both quests, which is timed. Basically, you will be collecting ingredients which are very nearby to cook. Click on the item needed to collect it. Then, wait for the Cooking Morry to show an orange flag, signifying that you can turn it in. Repeat this until you are all done, and then turn in the quest to Waiter Huu to finish quest.</p>
        <p>He is in search of the Four Treasures of Writing, and the above items are needed to craft one of those: the Xuan Paper. You'll need to have all three items in your bag, and the NPC will give you an item that you can click on to create the Xuan Paper. As reward, you sometimes get Flameflaring Beads. You can give these to the Special Ops Agent to get rare materials used for crafting Charms.</p>

        <p>You will also get pages from the Esper Saga Tome.</p>
    <p>[[File:ClassWindowGivesEXP.jpg|thumb|center|600px|ClassWindowGivesEXP]]</p>

        <p><strong>Sticky Glue:</strong> This one is also used for the Four Treasures of Writings. In addition, you need Wolf Hair and Green Bamboo to craft a Wolf Hair Inkbrush. You can get Wolf Hair from the blue-named Ungracious Wolves which are scattered around Sunstream. Green Bamboo can be dropped by Bamboos in Jadeon, either Bamboo Heights or Bamboo Peak.</p>
    <p>* Starting at Level 10, you can get the best kind of experience: free experience. Hit "N" to open your class window. Click "Get EXP" down at the bottom of the window to get free experience. You can make your own contribution to this experience pool by doing the daily class quest.</p>

        <p><strong>Carbon Black / Pine Black / Santalum:</strong> These three items are used for the Four Treasures of Writings quest as well. You can craft Pine Black Ink out of those.</p>
    <p>* At this point, you can also open the Treasure Chest again and receive your first pet! Talk to Pet Tamer Ellan in Sunstream to Tame this pet, and then equip it. You can see your pet by pressing the "P" key. Drag the Pearl Grape you got from the Treasure Chest into the small box on the bottom of the Pet Roster, and your pet will automatically be fed whenever it is injured or hungry.</p>

        <p><strong>Eera Mud:</strong> One of the items for the last of the Four Treasures of Writings. Combine this with Glowstones and Jade Stones to craft a Glazed Inkstone.</p>
    <p>Summon your pet by using the small button on the left side of your action bar, or by selecting it in the Pet Roster and clicking the Summon button. Your pet can help you in combat, and will gain levels alongside you. See the Pets page for more information.</p>
        <p>Glowstones can be found if you search Blazed Stones in Kunlun Mountains, but it can be dangerous for low-level characters due to how strong the monsters are in this high-level area.</p>

        <p>Jade Stones can be found in Mirage Crystals in Moontop Hollow in Jadeon.</p>

    <p>At this point, your mandatory quests will tell you to visit Kouros in Grasstemple Village (located northwest of Sunstream), where you will fight Wandering Wraiths and Moaning Harpies. Afterwards, go to Zaxin where he requires you to collect certain items. Make sure to have extra bag spaces as you'll need them to get quest items. Go to quest log, and click on the manditory quest to see green highlighted words in the description. By clicking on that, you'll be able to auto-route to where you are supposed to be. Return to Zaxin and he'll ask you to catch some mice. You'll get a rat trap item to help you do that. Find the mouses which are nearby, and right click on the rat trap to catch the mouses.</p>
    </div>

    <p>After turning that in, you'll be sent to Shepherd Master Wang who will give you a quest to collect wool from the sheep right behind him. Talk to him again and he'll send you to the looms to turn the wool into real wool. Go to Wool Dealer Kingberry, click wool trade, and then exchange the wool for a silver coin, which you will turn in to Shepard Master Wang. Run or teleport back to Sunstream to speak to Faji. After a few chats with him, he'll tell you to go to Tanis Ka, who will assign you a quest to kill a Vim Wraith Lord. Be careful, as there is another boss in the same area.</p>

    <p>When you turn this quest in, congratulations, you're now level 15! Talk to Tanis Ka and he will tell you how to choose your Faction!</p>

    <p>* After completing Sunstream JD Plot quests, you have to accept the quests for the next chapter of JD Plot by opening Quest window and clicking on the JD Plot tab. From there, you should see that you can now do the Jadeon mandatory quests. To start the quest line, click on Jadeon, go to the first quest of that storyline, and then click accept task to begin. Each section of the plot quests is linked to one of the major zones, and is divided into a number of chapters. At the end of each chapter, you'll get an experience boost; at lower levels, you'll also get key items like a basic Esper.</p>

    <p>* If you can find a master to disciple yourself to, or someone willing to power-level you, you can level up extremely quickly.</p>

    <p>* After you reach Level 30, you'll start getting Wonderland Fair tickets. The games at the Wonderland Fair will each reward you with 30 Taichi Pills, which will automatically be converted into experience.</p>

    <p>* If you’re going to be away from your computer for a few hours, you can get experience from the Dispatcher quests. Each zone has a dispatcher, and most of their quests involve killing a number of monsters. They aren't very time-efficient for the amount of experience you get, but you'll also get plenty of item drops. You can run to where the monsters spawn, activate your Esper to automatically attack enemies, and come back with the quest ready to be turned in.</p>

Sunstream is where all players start their journey. You'll have your first set of armor and weapons here, as well as your first esper and pet! When you reach level 15, Tanis Ka will guide you along the way to the selection of a faction.

If you are playing an athan such as an Arden or Balo character, the quests progress in a very similar way, except with the NPCs and monsters found in the Divine Realm.

For a rookie in Jade Dynasty, it can be hard to figure out how to level up: Grinding doesn't give much EXP, and it's a long way to Ascended LV150. This guide will list a few of the ways characters under Level 45 can painlessly get EXP.

Level 1

NOTE: Currently, all characters under level 30 have a 12-letter chat limit and a six second waiting period before sending chat message. However, this DOES NOT affect Friend chat. If you have anyone you know in game such as a friend or Inductor, you can add them to your friend list by right clicking their name on chat window, and then clicking add. This puts them on your friend list (accessible by pressing F). You can choose to chat with them with less of a chat limit on a separate window, see when they're online, and more.

First, press B to open your Bag and right-click on the Treasure Chest to obtain a nice weapon and a whole lot of potions. Equip one of the weapons by right-clicking on it. To make life a little easier, press Q to open up Quest Log. On the left bottom corner of the Quest log window, check Track All. By doing this, all your quests show up on a little window, making it easier to access what quests you are doing and so on.

Step forward and talk to Tanis Ka and he will give you a quest to talk to Guard Suntu. You can use Heavy Blow skill on your skill bar can kill these in less hits.Turn in the quest to Guard Suntu once you're done.

Levels 2 to 5

Speak to Tailor Swaha to get the next Mandatory quest. The top bar will gradually fill with red, and when it is halfway, you can click on the "Invigorate" button on the left side to cause your character to fight for you!

At level 5, you can open your Treasure Chest again for a pair of boots and a hat, which are better than the ones you got from the quest at level 1. Make sure you equip them.

Levels 6 to 10

Continue following the Mandatory quests by talking to the Enchanter again. He will send you to Waiter Huu who will tell you to talk to Fisherman Younge. After talking to him, he will teleport you to Hades Sea, where you are supposed to get an unknown fish net. Depending on your computer system, you may need to drop all of your graphical settings to minimum in order to complete this section.

Once in the Hades Sea, cross the bridge, and then go through the left pathway. Speak to the fisherman, and you should get enough experience to level up to level 7.

Speak to the fisherman again to start another quest which involves catching a Moy Fish. Repeat this until you are all done, and then turn in the quest to Waiter Huu to finish quest.

* At this point, you can also open the Treasure Chest again and receive your first pet! Talk to Pet Tamer Ellan in Sunstream to Tame this pet, and then equip it. You can see your pet by pressing the "P" key. Drag the Pearl Grape you got from the Treasure Chest into the small box on the bottom of the Pet Roster, and your pet will automatically be fed whenever it is injured or hungry.

Summon your pet by using the small button on the left side of your action bar, or by selecting it in the Pet Roster and clicking the Summon button. Your pet can help you in combat, and will gain levels alongside you. See the Pets page for more information.

Levels 11 to 15

At this point, your mandatory quests will tell you to visit Kouros in Grasstemple Village (located northwest of Sunstream), where you will fight Wandering Wraiths and Moaning Harpies. Find the mouses which are nearby, and right click on the rat trap to catch the mouses.

After turning that in, you'll be sent to Shepherd Master Wang who will give you a quest to collect wool from the sheep right behind him. Be careful, as there is another boss in the same area.

When you turn this quest in, congratulations, you're now level 15! Talk to Tanis Ka and he will tell you how to choose your Faction!

* After completing Sunstream JD Plot quests, you have to accept the quests for the next chapter of JD Plot by opening Quest window and clicking on the JD Plot tab. From there, you should see that you can now do the Jadeon mandatory quests. To start the quest line, click on Jadeon, go to the first quest of that storyline, and then click accept task to begin. Each section of the plot quests is linked to one of the major zones, and is divided into a number of chapters. At the end of each chapter, you'll get an experience boost; at lower levels, you'll also get key items like a basic Esper.

* If you can find a master to disciple yourself to, or someone willing to power-level you, you can level up extremely quickly.

* After you reach Level 30, you'll start getting Wonderland Fair tickets. The games at the Wonderland Fair will each reward you with 30 Taichi Pills, which will automatically be converted into experience.

* If you’re going to be away from your computer for a few hours, you can get experience from the Dispatcher quests. Each zone has a dispatcher, and most of their quests involve killing a number of monsters. They aren't very time-efficient for the amount of experience you get, but you'll also get plenty of item drops. You can run to where the monsters spawn, activate your Esper to automatically attack enemies, and come back with the quest ready to be turned in.
